Angry Hour™ at LividCon

At the end of LividCon, we gathered with conference attendees and local leaders for Angry Hour™: A Happy Hour for Pissed-Off Optimists. A portion of the proceeds from Angry Hour™ were donated to two outstanding Chicago-based nonprofits organizing for immigration justice: the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs and Asian Americans Advancing Justice—Chicago.

What is Angry Hour™?

When January 2025 rolled around, the team at Greater Good knew we had to do something. As our co-founder George Aye wrote, "I'll be damned if I let this administration make me lose my sense of hope." So we started by hosting one in Chicago. When it sold out in days, we knew we were onto something.

Now, we've hosted eight Angry Hours™ in seven cities, and it turns out, there are Pissed-Off Optimists everywhere. Angry Hour™ is a chance to find your people, connect with old friends and new, and build the community infrastructure to equip us all to keep going. Read what Fast Company had to say about Angry Hour™.

Organizations we've raised money for at previous Angry Hours include Chicago Community Jail Support, The Innocence Project, The Youth Sentencing and Reentry Project, GAVA, CHIRLA, Life After Hate, OCAD, Enlace Chicago, and Peace for DC.
